Good-bye and hello

Bye-bye old site!
Yipee! Woohoo! I feel like the pampered subject of E! Fashion Emergency, Extreme Makeover, and What Not to Wear all rolled into one. It took weeks (and lots of tears) to work out the kinks, but I finally have a new site design today!
Okay, so it’s not perfect yet, but it’s good enough to launch. I’ll be working through the bugs in the next few days, so if you find any or want me to bring back a feature that I chucked with the bathwater, leave a comment on this post or email me using that nifty new menu button over there on the right.
Pssst! Did I mention this site is optimized for Firefox? If you don’t have it, consider downloading a copy today. It’s free and way better than that other browser that shall not be named but has the initials I and E. Click here to .

Thanks! I’m hearing reports that the menu and picture on the right don’t work with monitors set at 1024x..., so there’s still some work to be done.
Hi Carry! Now that summer is gone I find myself with more sitting-in-front-of-a-computer time and clicked to your site. I like the new design! Only one suggestion: some navigation at the top; as it is, to get to the next page, you have to scroll to the bottom (and it took me a bit of looking to find the link.)
Your photos are awesome; better all the time. And they’re all making me itch for the mountains. I actually cancelled a backpacking trip last week because all three of our potential desitnations (one in the Olympics, one in the North Cascades, and one in the Alpine Lakes East of the summit) all had rain in the forecast, and we didn’t want to hike in the rain. Of course the weather ended up being much better than the forecast and it turn out we shoud have gone. *sigh*
Oh well, still a few more opportunities during the lovely autumn, I think!
Hope you’re well
Yeah, this is a tough time of year to plan much of anything too far in advance. I had nothing planned for last weekend, but then Tuesday the weather forecast looked so good we made last minute plans to climb Eldorado via the NE Face. We were the ONLY people on the mountain. Incredible! I’d be willing to bet the Enchantments traverse in a couple weeks will get rained out just because we made advanced plans
Thanks for the thoughts on the navigation. I could move the links to the top, but it wouldn’t look as seamless. I’m not sure I’m 100% happy with the design anyway. If it doesn’t get ditched entirely, I’ll work on moving it up.
