Pregnant snow lady

Nick was scheduled to race bikes at some gosh awful early time on Saturday morning in Bellingham, so we thought a pilgrimage to the Putneys’ house on Friday night was in order. It was snowing when we got there; it was still snowing when we got up in the morning.

Ever the optimist, Nick drove out to the race course at 8 a.m. while Lessli, Ken and I digested our waffles, tea and coffee. A few minutes later, Nick arrived back home thoroughly disgusted with the idea of riding bikes. I had already planned on dragging Ken and Riley (dog) for a run that morning, so Nick borrowed a pair of Lessli’s running shoes and we were off. A half an hour of slush and huge snowflakes melting on eyelashes was enough.

Of course, the snow was perfect for building snowmen, so when we got home we set about our task. Within 15 minutes our gloves were soaked, but we had created possibly the first ever pregnant snow lady in honor of Lessli’s pending delivery. (Note the “outy” belly button.)
