Now that submissions for the Law Review write-on competition are in, I feel safe in posting what I spent a tortured three days writing. For the record, I do not actually believe juvenile offenders should be sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Unfortunately, case law seemed so clear that the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution doesn’t prohibit it. So this is what it’s like to be a judge…

Now I understand why it takes 3 years to complete law school. One year to learn how to write like a lawyer, and two to learn how to read like one.

Best I can follow this, your argument makes sense.

In common language, “Most folks are in favor of life without the possibility of parole. And they have made laws and court precidents that back it up. Those who are against it haven’t been compelling in their arguments.”

Right?
