This picture was a long time coming...On Thanksgiving morning, 12 of us got together for our annual “give thanks for the outdoors and earn your turkey dinner” hike.
This year we went across the valley from Little Si to Rattlesnake Ledges. The weather cooperated. (You may remember that it rained last year.) And Brian made it to the summit. (Turns out he came last year, but arrived too late to meet up with us and got a little lost.)
A stiff breeze welcomed us on the Ledges. We stayed long enough to take a few pictures and catch up with those we didn’t talk with on the way up, then headed back to our respective families for the feast. (April & Kelli were purportedly serving “Thanksgiving pizza” at their place. Yum!)
In retrospect I am very thankful for many things that make days like this possible:
- The good health of my friends;
- The amazing work by WTA on the construction and maintenance of our trails;
- The beautiful weather;
- Big trees; and
- Cool trail dogs (not pictured).
