If one day of the year screams PARTY!, that day has to be today. March 14 (or 3/14) is World Pi Day! It’s the date to celebrate the symbol that represents 3.1415 and on and on to infinity. (The day also happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday. A round of “Happy birthday Dear Albert” anyone?)

I think I’ll bring some pie to work today and make time to catch the annual ritual drop of the giant pie at 1:59 p.m. If you’d like to cyber-celebrate with me, may I suggest sending a Pi Day e-card and belting out at least one round of “Oh, number Pi” (to the tune of “Oh, Tannenbaum”):

Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
Your digits are unending,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
No pattern are you sending.
You’re three point one four one five nine,
And even more if we had time,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
For circle lengths unbending.

Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
You are a number very sweet,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
Your uses are so very neat.
There’s 2 Pi r and Pi r squared,
A half a circle and you’re there,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
We know that Pi’s a tasty treat.

For clarity: you’re referring to your friend Brian, not my brother Brian, right? And yes, I’m a dork. No question about that!
